About Borders Family History Society

We're here to help people with their family history primarily in the Border counties (Berwickshire, Peeblesshire, Roxburghshire and Selkirkshire) of Scotland, as well as in adjacent counties of England and Scotland.

Come to our Family and Local History Fair and Conference, Melrose, Scotland on 9th October 2010, there will be talks and lots of exhibitors.

Use this site to further your research by Recording Gravestone Inscriptions at Linton, Roxburghshire
This video talks about why our volunteers record gravestone inscriptions (or tombstone / monumental inscriptions), and what information is available. We thank, gratefully, ITV Border News, for supplying us with a copy of the video and for permission to publish it.
