Buses
There is a bus stop in Bank Street (served by the X95 from Hawick and Selkirk), a few minutes walk away, however Galashiels Bus Station, also known as Galashiels Interchange is less than 10 minutes walk away.
There are regular buses from Berwick, Edinburgh, Hawick, Jedburgh, Kelso, Lauder, Peebles as well as many other places in the Scottish Borders.

Driving and Parking
We are located at the junction of Overhaugh Street and Bank Close. There is no parking by the Archive. Short term parking may be available in Bank Street which runs parallel to Overhaugh St. Further away, there are car parks at Tesco and Asda where you can park at no cost for 3 hours. Trains
Trains run frequently between Edinburgh and Galashiels. The train station is across the road from Galashiels Bus Station, also known as Galashiels Interchange and is less than 10 minutes walk away. More information on the railway line, times of trains, and online ticket purchase.

Walking from Galashiels Bus Station/Galashiels Interchange
Exit the building using the door labelled Town Centre almost adjacent to Stance 1.
Go down the 2 steps, onto the pedestrian precinct, cross the road in front of you and continue in the same direction, across a bridge over a river (the Gala Water), pass Argos on your right, and across the road (Channel St) further ahead.
Turn to your left, walk past several shops, and take the first opening, a wide alley on your right.
At the end of this short alley, turn right onto Overhaugh St. You should see our building facing you on the opposite corner, across the road.
Walking from Bank Street bus stop
Cross the road when safe to do so. Continue in the same direction as the traffic, passing Royal Bank of Scotland, then turn right down Bank Close.
